Monitoring of Employee Internet Use on
the Rise
More than
half of human resource professionals say their
organizations have increased their monitoring of
employees' Internet use.
Employees
have become so comfortable using e-mail, the Internet,
and instant messaging that the downsides of mixing work,
play, and technology are catching up. Numerous surveys
show that firings as a result of improper e-mail use
have become more common in the last five
years.
